Its body carries a fine-line engraving of Diao Chan 貂蝉 — one of China's Four Beauties — shown in flowing robes holding a round fan, surrounded by calligraphy including the characters 闭月 ("hiding the moon," her famous epithet) and a dated inscription. A gently curved spout, an ear-shaped handle, and a lid topped with a bud-shaped knob complete the silhouette.
