藏红花为鸢尾科植物番红花的柱头,又名西红花。藏红花性喜冷凉、湿润、耐半阴,喜光线、怕酷热,较耐寒,冬季不低于-10℃即可安全越冬;忌雨涝积水,喜排水畅通、疏松肥沃、腐殖质丰富的沙质土。

《本草正义》记载:“西藏红花,降逆顺气,开结消瘀,仍与川红花相近,而力量雄峻过之。今人仅以为活血行滞之用,殊未足尽其功用。”
藏红花性状
【性味】 味甘,微苦,性温。
【归经】归心、肝经。
完整的柱头呈线形,三分枝,暗红色,上部较宽而略扁平,向下渐细呈尾状,顶端边缘显不整齐的齿状,内侧有1短裂隙,下端有时残留1小段黄色花柱。体轻,质松软,无油润光泽,干燥后质脆易断。气特异,微有刺激性,味微苦。
