白芷概述
白芷为伞形科植物白芷或杭白芷的干燥根，夏、秋间叶黄时采挖，除去须根及泥沙，晒干或低温干燥。白芷喜温暖湿润气候，耐寒，宜在阳光充足，土层深厚，疏松肥沃，排水良好的砂质壤土栽培。
《本草求真》记载：“白芷，气温力厚，通窍行表，为足阳明经祛风散湿主药。故能治阳明一切头面诸疾，如头目昏痛，眉棱骨痛，暨牙龈骨痛，面黑瘢疵者是也。”
白芷各家论述
《纲目》记载：“白芷，色白味辛，行手阳明；性温气厚，行足阳明；芳香上达，入手太阴肺经。如头、目、眉、齿诸病，三经之风热也；如漏、带、痈疽诸病，三经之湿热也；风热者辛以散之，湿热者温以除之。”
白芷性状
【性味】 味辛，性温。
【归经】 归肺，脾，胃经。
呈长圆锥形，表面灰棕色或黄棕色，根头部钝四棱形或近圆形，具纵皱纹、支根痕及皮孔样的横向突起，有的排列成四纵行,顶端有凹陷的茎痕。质坚实，断面白色或灰白色，粉性，形成层环棕色，近方形或近圆形，皮部散有多数棕色油点。
气芳香，味辛，微苦。
