为玄参科植物独脚金的全草，生于平原和丘陵的草地，常寄生其他植物的根上。夏、秋采集，洗净，晒干。
独脚柑各家论述
据《南宁市药物志》记载：“退热解渴，消食。主疳积烦渴。”
独脚柑性状
【性味】 味甘，微苦，性凉。
【归经】 归肝，脾，胃经。
干燥的全草，全体呈黄褐色或绿褐色，茎细，被灰白色糙毛。叶线形或披针形，多数脱落。
中部以上为稀疏的穗状花序， 除少数未结果的植株可见干枯的花冠外，其余大部都已脱落。
萼管状，蒴果黑褐色，内藏于萼筒中，花柱残存，种子细小，黄棕色。以植株完整、带绿色、无泥沙杂质者为佳。
