为橄榄科植物橄榄的果核，秋季采收成熟果实，除去果肉，鲜用或晒干。
生于低海拔的杂木林中，有栽培。《本草再新》记载：“主肝胃气，疝气，消疽瘤。”

橄榄核性状
【性味】味甘涩，性温，无毒。

果核呈梭形，两头钝尖，红棕色，上有6条棱线，质坚硬，不易碎；剖开内有3室，其中各有种子1粒。种子细长梭形。种皮棕红色，内为白色种仁，油性足。无臭。
