黄芩（种植）概述
为唇形科植物黄芩的干燥根，春、秋二季采挖，除去须根及泥沙，晒后撞去粗皮，晒干。黄芩的临床抗菌性比黄连好，而且不产生抗药性。《本草纲目》记载：“主风热湿热头疼，奔豚热痛，火咳肺痿喉腥，诸失血。”

《本草经疏》记载：“黄芩，其性清肃，所以除邪，味苦所以燥湿，阴寒所以胜热，故主诸热。诸热者，邪热与湿热也，黄疸、肠澼、泄痢，皆湿热胜之病也，折其本，则诸病自瘳矣。苦寒能除湿热，所以小肠利而水自逐，源清则流洁也。血闭者，实热在血分，即热入血室，令人经闭不通，湿热解，则荣气清而自行也。恶疮疽蚀者，血热则留结，而为痈肿溃烂也；火疡者，火气伤血也，凉血除热，则自愈也。”
黄芩（种植）性状
【性味】 味苦，性寒。
【归经】 归肺、胆、脾、大肠、小肠经。
干燥根呈倒圆锥形，扭曲不直，表面深黄色或黄棕色，上部皮较粗糙，有扭曲的纵皱纹或不规则的网纹，质硬而脆，易折断；断面深黄色，中间有棕红色圆心。老根断面中央呈暗棕色或棕黑色朽片状，习称"枯黄芩"或"枯芩"；或因中空而不坚硬，呈劈破状者，习称"黄芩瓣"。根遇潮湿或冷水则变为黄绿色。无臭，味苦。
