桔梗概述
为桔梗科植物桔梗的干燥根，春、秋二季采挖，洗净，除去须根，趁鲜剥去外皮或不去外皮，干燥。《纲目》记载：“主口舌生疮，赤目肿痛。”
桔梗各家论述
《本草崇原》记载：“桔梗，治少阳之胁痛，上焦之胸痹，中焦之肠鸣，下焦之腹满。又惊则气上，恐则气下，悸则动中，是桔梗为气分之药，上中下皆可治也。”
桔梗性状
【性味】 味苦、辛，性平。
【归经】 归肺经。
呈圆柱形或略呈纺锤形，下部渐细，有的有分枝，略扭曲，表面白色或淡黄白色，不去外皮者表面黄棕色至灰棕色；具纵扭皱沟，并有横长的皮孔样斑痕及支根痕。上部有横纹。有的顶端有较短的根茎或不明显，其上有数个半月形茎痕。
质脆，断面不平坦，形成层环棕色，皮部类白色，有裂隙，木部淡黄白色。无臭，味微甜后苦。
