为蓼科蓼属植物扛板归的全草，生于山谷、灌木丛中或水沟旁，于7-10月采收，鲜用或晾 干。

据《福建药物志》记载：“主腮腺炎，急性扁桃体炎，脱肛，中耳炎。”
扛板归性状
【性味】 味酸，苦，性平。
【归经】 归肺，小肠经。
为不规则的段状，茎略呈四棱形，表面紫红色或紫棕色，具棱，棱上有倒钩刺，断面黄白色，有髓或中空；叶互生，叶片多皱缩，完整叶片呈盾状着生，灰绿色至红棕色，下面叶脉及叶柄均有倒生钩刺，顶端有短穗状花序，花小，瘦果球形，黑色，气微，茎味淡，叶味酸。
