别名 沔茄、木茄
为豆科植物缅茄的种子。秋、冬季果实成熟后采摘，剥取种子，晒干。
《灵秘丹药笺》记载：“抹眼眶去火毒，又能解百毒。水磨涂治牙疼。”
缅茄各家论述
《滇略》记载：“拭眼去翳，亦解疮毒。”
缅茄性状
【性味】 味辛，性平。
【归经】 归肝经。
荚果长椭圆形，略扁，棕褐色，木质，坚硬。种子2-3颗，扁圆形，种皮黑褐色，基部有一角质、坚硬的假种皮状种柄，其长略等于种子。
