木香概述
为菊科云木香属植物木香的干燥根，秋、冬二季采挖，除去泥沙及须根，切段，大的再纵剖成瓣，干燥后撞去粗皮。
《本草纲目》记载：“主心腹一切滞气。和胃气，泄肺气，行肝气。凡气郁而不舒者，宜用之。”
木香各家论述
《纲目》记载：“木香，乃三焦气分之药，能升降诸气。诸气膹郁，皆属于肺，故上焦气滞用之者，乃金郁则泄之也；中气不运属于脾，故中焦气滞宜之者，脾胃喜芳香也；大肠气滞则后重，膀胱气不化则癃淋，肝气郁则为痛，故下焦气滞者宜之，乃塞者通之也。”
木香性状
【性味】 味辛，苦，性温。
【归经】 归脾，胃，肝，肺经。
根呈圆柱形或半圆柱形，表面黄棕色至灰褐色，有明显的皱纹、纵沟及侧根痕，有时可见网状纹理；质坚，不易折断，断面稍平坦，灰褐色至暗褐色，周边灰黄色或浅棕黄色，形成层环棕色，有放射状纹理及散在的褐色点状油室，老根中央多枯朽，气芳香浓烈而特异，味先甜后苦，稍刺舌。
