南沙参概述
南沙参原名沙参，为桔梗科植物沙参及其同属数种植物的根，春、秋季采挖，除去须根，洗后趁鲜刮去粗皮，干燥。
其适应性较强，喜温暖凉爽和光照充足的气候条件，能耐阴、耐寒，对土壤要求不甚严格，但以湿润、肥沃的土壤为好；忌积水，能耐旱。
始载于东汉《神农本草经》，列为上品，南北朝《本草经集注》中将沙参与人参、玄参、丹参、苦参称为五参。
《纲目》记载：“人参甘苦温，其体重实，专补脾胃元气，因而益肺与肾，故内伤元气者宜之。沙参甘淡而寒，其体轻虚，专补肺气，
因而益脾与肾，故金受火克者宜之。一补阳而生阴，一补阴而制阳，不可不辨之也。”
南沙参各家论述
《日华子本草》记载：“补虚，止惊烦，益心肺，并（主）一切恶疮疥癣及身痒，排脓消肿毒。”
南沙参性状
【性味】 味甘，性微寒。
【归经】 归肺，胃经。
呈圆锥形或圆柱形，略弯曲，表面黄白色或淡棕黄色，凹陷处常有残留粗皮，上部多有深陷横纹，呈断续的环状，下部有纵纹及纵沟；体轻，质松泡，易折断，断面不平坦，黄白色，多裂隙。无臭，味微甘。
