Shi Yan 石燕, Spirifer, Medicinal Mineral

Product Overview

If you collect unusual herbal materials, this one is hard to miss. Spirifer (石燕, Shí Yàn) is a fossilized brachiopod shell — a little stone clam that spent ages underground. The pieces are gray-beige with clear ribbed patterns, and each one looks a bit different from the next. Sourced from China, packed in a bag, in a few sizes to choose from.
