Property
Pungent, bitter, warm; lung and spleen meridians entered.
Actions
Dispel cold and dry dampness, regulate qi and resolve phlegm, soothe middle energizer and strengthen the stomach.
Indications
Nausea and vomit, cough due to wind-cold, circulation of vital energy in the wrong direction, excessive phlegm, dyspepsia, distention and fullness in chest.

橘红概述(理气宽中 燥湿化痰)别名 化州桔红、芸皮、芸红
为芸香科植物橘及其栽培变种的干燥外层果皮。秋末冬初果实成熟后采收，用刀削下外果皮，晒干或阴干。《本经逢原》记载：“橘红专主肺寒咳嗽多痰，虚损方多用之，然久嗽气泄，又非所宜。”

《医林纂要》记载：“橘红专入于肺，兼以发表。去皮内之白，更轻虚上浮，亦去肺邪耳。”
橘红性状
【性味】 味辛、苦，性温。
【归经】 归肺、脾经。
干燥的外层橘皮呈长条形或不整齐纸状薄片，厚不超过0.2毫米，边缘皱缩卷曲。表面黄棕色或橙红色，有光泽，密布棕黄色凸起的油点，果皮内面黄白色，密布圆点状油室。质脆易碎。气芳香，味微苦而后觉麻舌。
