【性味】 味甘、微苦，性温。
【归经】 归肝，脾，肾经。
草干缩呈棉花团状，略呈倒圆锥形，全体密被交织的白色或淡黄色长绵毛。根茎粗壮，表面棕褐色，外层易剥落。叶极密集， 倒披针形或匙形，枯绿或棕色。头状花序多数，无梗，苞片条状披针表、棕绿色，被白色密绵毛；总苞半球形，
外层总苞片条状披针形，有白色密绵毛；内层披针形，有黑褐色长毛。花白色，常脱落。
